You and Your Vocation

Is God Calling You?

The young are called; the elderly are called. There is no retirement from the Christian pilgrimage. The sick are called, as well as the healthy and energetic. We are called regardless of our intellectual abilities or our formal education. We are called regardless of our race or nationality or social class. You may not think that you're up to it. But God calls who God wants.

Have you ever thought that God may want you?

How is God Calling You?

It may be that for years you have had deep inner conviction that God is calling you. It may be that it comes like a bolt from the blue, through listening to a sermon or during a time of prayer. It may be that some friends have spotted God's calling in you that it's only gradually that you've come to recognize it for yourself. God's calling can sometimes be dramatic or sometimes be dramatic or sometimes it can seem like a still small voice. There are lots of different ways God may be calling you. But God is calling.

You are called to live your life in response to the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. By virtue of your baptism, you are called to live in Christ and represent him in the world. That is your primary calling.

But God may also be calling you to particular forms of service within the life of the Church.
