MEETINGS AND MEMBERSHIP

St. Anne’s AYPA is composed of vibrant Junior and Senior Groups. The junior group which runs from 9 – 15 years usually met on Wednesdays at 5:00pm but due to competition form other activities, moved to Mondays at 5:00pm. The senior group (16 - years) meets on Mondays at 7:30pm. Lateness was a major difficulty over the previous years but a late jar was placed at the door for every meeting where members would pay a fine of $1.00. With this strategy punctuality improved greatly.

Subscription

For the senior section, employed members are required to contribute $10.00 monthly. Non working and junior members pay $1.00 per week. The executive observed that persons were not consistent in the payment of subscription; hence payment plans were set up for each member with outstanding subscription to repay over a period of time. Most members have completely cleared their debts.

Program

The branch tries as much as possible to have activities centered on the motto, and the four (4) principles of AYPA. The executive seeks suggestions from the branch for possible programs and then plans accordingly. The finished program is then shown to the branch for approval. A copy is also sent to Island Council and the parish priest.
